National Junior Honor Society
The National Junior Honor Society was founded in 1929 and recognizes and encourages academic achievement.
We promote recognition for students who reflect outstanding accomplishments in the areas of scholarship, character, leadership,
service and citizenship. College Admission Officers often look for National Honor Society Membership as a valid indicator
that the applicant will succeed at the college level. Membership in the NJHS is both an honor and a responsibility. Members
must have at least a 3.0 grade point average as well as good conduct. All members shall regularly participate in the
club's projects. The projects will fulfill a need within the school or community, and will be well planned, organized and
executed.
All members should get into the habit of keeping a calendar at all times. You can keep track of your
homework as well as your personal plans. Please show the office your report card to see if you qualify for this great club! If you do not have
your last report card, you can get a progress report from me so that you can come to meetings until your next report card is
available.
Please give the office any ideas that you may have that would be good for our club to get involved in. The club is good as its members'
participation. We will be helping the homeless people of downtown Miami in a near future by collecting used clothes and
canned foods. You are welcome to donate cans of food and clothes at anytime.
